TDM Signage requires an internet connection in order to show new content. Should the internet connection temporarily be down, the TDM Windows Player will continue playing for a while. The TDM Signage HTML5 Player will show only the current page in case of an internet outage.When the internet connection is back up , the presentation is continued and new content will be displayed.

TDM Signage will always need an internet connection when starting up, unless you have purchased the additional “Offline Module”. This feature enables you to run TDM Signage Windows Player without an internet connection temporarily. However, you will still need connection to the internet when you was to add new content to your presentation, even when using the “Offline Module”.

The TDM Signage Windows Player runs on a separate computer and is thus able to make use of the processing power of that computer. That makes this version a bit more powerful than the HTML5 version. This translates in the fact that the HTML5 player is a little less suitable for showing presentation that have uploaded videos, large photos, streams or other webapplications in them.

Hierarchy TDM

As you can see from the image above, pages are based on templates. The pages itself are assigned to playlists. One or more playlists form a presentation, which can be displayed on one or more displays.

 

In the playlist you determine what pages to show in the specific playlist and for how long they should be shown.
In a presentation you determine what content to show on your player by assigning playlist to your presentation.
A player can only show one presentation, that can exist of multiple playlists. A playlist can also be assigned to multiple presentations.
A playlist is basically a collection of pages, whilst the presentation is a collection of playlists.

You can switch off one or more masterpage elements by clicking your presentation in the Designer, under Content –> Presentations. In the new overview you are in, click the page for which you want to deactivate the masterpage elements. Navigate to the second tab in the top of the popup and tick the elements you do not wish to show atop your page and click Save.

A masterpage is meant to hold elements that you wish to see atop of all your pages. Examples include company logos, a tickertape, a standard bakcground or date/time elements.
These elements can be switched off per page in your presentation if need be.

It is not possible to use more than one masterpage in your presentation. The one masterpage you can use is leading for the presentation as a whole.

Yes, there are. You can download them from tdmsignage.com/demotemplates. The Zip-file you acquire can be imported directly into your Designer when creating a new template.

Download the software to the computer you plan to use. Finish the installation by following the wizard. As soon as the installation is complete, a login screen appears. Fill out the registration data you find under Administration in the Designer. There is a field called “Location” in the login screen; please enter a playername here, that makes it easy for you to recognize your player later on. When this is done, your player will appear in the Designer under Administration –> Players. Click your player and assign one of your licenses to it. Now, whenever you assign your player to a presentation, the content will directly show on the screen attached to your computer.
The HTML5 version requires you to enter the player-URL into the HTML5 television. Once you have done so, the player will appear in the Designer under Administration –> Players and you can assign it to a presentation again.

The Full Setup for TDM Signage Windows Player is a complete installation of TDM and all of its components, used when you first install TDM Signage. This download includes the TDM Filesync Service, that makes sure that new content from your Designer is automatically sent to the players, and TDM Update Service, that makes it possible to automatically update the software and restarts TDM in case of an error.
When downloading the Updates, you only install the newest features and additions to TDM Signage Windows Player. You’ll need this when updating an already installed version of TDM Signage and when you have automatic updates switched off.

Yes, you can: When in the Designer, you will find a menu-item under Administration, that is called “Players”. In here, you will see an overview of all your players. Click the player and a popup appears. In the tab Updates you can tick whether or not you want the most recent version to automatically download to your player.

In your Designer, click “Players” under Administration. Next, click the player that you wish to check. In the popup that appears, click to the third tab, “Info”. In here you will find which version of the software is currently running on your machine.

Your reseller has all the information on the additional license you need to use this add-on.
You then need to make sure that a webcam is attached to the player that runs TDM Signage Windows Player. Download TDM Spectator Statistics Addon Setup 1.0.0.0 from the Designer to the PC that runs TDM Signage Windows Player and to which the webcam is connected and install it.
Whenever you run TDM Signage now, the Spectator Statistics will run in the background. Data it collects can be found in the Designer; it is in the Statistics menu under Administration.

There are two ways of setting up hotelmode on your Sony Bravia screen, depending on what edition of the screen you have.
For Sony Bravias built in 2014 or earlier, you can use the instructions in this document: Sony Bravia Hotel Mode.
For Bravias that use Android as operating system (the most recent Bravias), please contact your reseller for instructions.

The TDM Signage Android Player uses the regular HTML5 licenses. You will find these licenses in your Designer under Administration, in the tab “Licenses”. All you need is the last 8 characters in the license URL.

Yes, you can: Within the app, you can go back to the settings in order the enter an alternative licensecode. When using the Android app on your Bravia screen, use the following combination of buttons to trigger the settings popup: Volume+, Mute, Back.
For other Android devices, you can alter the licensecode via the regular way to the settings.

As soon as you have downloaded and started the app, a popup will appear. In here, you can fill out the licensecode you will find in the Designer. For the TDM Signage Android Player, you will only need the last 8 characters of the HTML license. You can enter these in the field “License Code”. When you attach a presentation to your newly set up player, it will start playing immediately.
